Day One - Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast we head towards Pashupatinath. This is a very sacred temple for Lord Shiva. Non Hindus cannot enter the temple itself, but are free to wander around on the temple grounds. Here we will see cremation ceremonies as well as the colourful priests, "Baba's". The temple premises are also inhabited by local monkeys. It is sure that this temple and the ceremonies taking place here will leave a big impression on you.

Hereafter we continue to Buddha Stupa which is 6 km to the east of Kathmandu and is said to be built in 5th. Century AD. Here you will visit the local Tibetan community as well as you will see the Stupa with its traditional prayer rolls and well known Tibetan flags. We spend an hour there before we come to Durbar Square protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kathmandu durbar square is different from the other two durbar squares as it is in the heart of Kathmandu and surrounded by the modern era. This modern era is noticeable when at Kathmandu Durbar square, however the square has managed to keep is authenticity and manages to keep the history alive. As much as 56 historical structures can be found on this 5 acres large plaza.

At the end of our trip we will visit Swayambhu Stupa. Having travelled around the valley it is now time to take a breathtaking view over Kathmandu valley from the Swayambhu Stupa. A 365 steps stairway leads to the actual temple, which was built as early as the 5th century. From the temple plateau one can see all Kathmandu valley and far beyond on a clear day. The valleys' most spectacular sites should be known to you by know. This night we will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day Two - Sightseeing Dakshinkali & Patan

After having breakfast we will drive to Dakshinkali. The Dakshinkali temple is one of the most important places for worship in the Kathmandu Valley. Locals come to this temple to worship the Hindu Goddess Kali. The temple is located 22 kilometres from Kathmandu on the south side of the valley rim. Locals visit this temple especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays to offer animals to the holy goddess. Besides the religious value of Dakshinkali also the natural environment is well worth visiting as Dakshinkali is located in lush green forests.

After our visit to Dakshinkali is finished we will continue our tour to Patan. This is home to the former Patan Royal Family. Main attractions at this square include the Krishna temple with its 21 golden pinnacles, Rudra Varna Mahavihar; the Buddhist monastery which houses the local treasures and the central courtyard; Mul Chowk. This place is also listed as a World Heritage Site and very lively place. We will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day Three - Sightseeing in Bhaktapur

This day we proceed for sightseeing in Bhaktapur. This is one of the most ancient cities in Nepal full of art and architecture and very lively. This is called the living museum. You will have this impression when you will see the life style and daily activities of Local people. There are quite lot of places to visit within the city area.

After spending 3 hours in Bhaktapur we will drive to Nagarkot. Mount Nagarkot has a little village at its top of 2195 metres. From this hill the scenery unfolds; ranging from lush green rice fields till snow capped mountains. This night you will sleep in a hotel in Nagarkot situated amidst the beautiful natural scenario.

Day Four - Short Hike in Nagarkot

After breakfast in the hotel we will proceed for hiking in Nagarkot. We will walk for 5 to 6 hours with frequent rest on the way and back to the place. During the hike you will have the chance to enjoy the panoramic views on the Himalayan mountain range, including the MountDownload as PDF Everest on a clear day. You will also have good views on the Kathmandu Valley and will pass through local villages and have a good view on the local life. After this tiring but satisfying walk we will head back to Kathmandu, where we will stay overnight.
